First Week of School!

We had an awesome first week of school, the time went by fast!  Some highlights from the past two days were:

Time capsules:

We have been writing a letter to our future selves to read at the end of grade 5 and grade 12.  Students have been including details about their summer, their interests and goals for this year.



Shipwrecked:

To build leadership and resiliency, we played a game called Shipwrecked.  Students in 5D worked as a team to cross from one side of the soccer field to the other by only standing on 10 sit upons.  The students moved almost halfway across the field without touching the grass!  It was amazing to hear all of the words of encouragement and strategy.


Math and Literacy:

We eased back into learning by playing math and literacy games.

  IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES June 16 – Grade Fives: White T-Shirt for your tie-dye activity are due today June 16 – Imagination Day – Classes will engage in various activities to spark imagination throughout the day. Students may choose to dress up or have creative hair / headwear, redo anything from a past Spirit Day, etc. June 19 – Pizza Fun Lunch – Order at healthyhunger.ca by June 14 June 20 – 9:15 am – Volunteer Tea for our volunteers.
