Some highlights from the week!

Students had the opportunity to perform songs in Music class if they desired.  Performances included, Sky Full of Stars, Baby Shark, The Duck Song, The Spectre, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and DZIDZIO Cadillac.








For Field Study Friday, we went outside with the Grade 5's to play Tatonka Tatonka!

Students found sit spots outside to experience 5 minutes of mindfulness.













In PE, highlights included Four Corners and Fire and Ice.




We started learning about the brain and Growth Mindset.  We performed skits to highlight the difference between fixed and growth mindsets.  Ask us which scenario our group chose.



We're practicing for literacy centres by reading to others.

 Friday, August 30 We had an awesome first week of school, the time went by fast!  Some highlights from the past two days were: Time capsules: We have been writing a letter to our future selves to read at the end of grade 5 and grade 12.  Students have been including details about their summer, their interests and goals for this year. Shipwrecked: To build leadership and resiliency, we played a game called Shipwrecked.  Students in 5D worked as a team to cross from one side of the soccer field to the other by only standing on 10 sit upons.  The students moved almost halfway across the field without touching the grass!  It was amazing to hear all of the words of encouragement and strategy. Math and Literacy: We eased back into learning by playing math and literacy games.
