Walking Field Trip and Casino Volunteers

Community Walk Tomorrow

The grade 5 community is planning to walk to the green space near St. Claire's School on Friday, October 11 @ 11:30. We plan to engage in a game which reinforces student understanding of PRODUCERS, CONSUMERS and DECOMPOSERS as well as learn about the seasons and the roles of the living beings around us.

IMPORTANT | Help Still Needed on October 19 or October 20

Next weekend on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 are the dates we were given for our Casino Fundraiser.  Thank you to the parents who have already signed up!


We still have five spots that are not filled. 


If we cannot fill all volunteer slots, the Casino cancels our fundraiser and we are not permitted to apply for another 18 months…which would put us to another three years before another opportunity arises. 

With this opportunity giving us over $70 000, it is critical that we fill the spots so we get the money! 


If you, or your family / friends, are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

 Friday, August 30 We had an awesome first week of school, the time went by fast!  Some highlights from the past two days were: Time capsules: We have been writing a letter to our future selves to read at the end of grade 5 and grade 12.  Students have been including details about their summer, their interests and goals for this year. Shipwrecked: To build leadership and resiliency, we played a game called Shipwrecked.  Students in 5D worked as a team to cross from one side of the soccer field to the other by only standing on 10 sit upons.  The students moved almost halfway across the field without touching the grass!  It was amazing to hear all of the words of encouragement and strategy. Math and Literacy: We eased back into learning by playing math and literacy games.
