This week we prepared for Indigenous Veteran's Day and Remembrance Day by writing our wishes for the world with a collaborative poem, "Hopes for the 21st Century". We also all took on different roles while finger crocheting a wreath which was placed during the Remembrance Day assembly.


















We are wrapping up our Coordinate Geometry Unit.  This practice sheet was used for students to check their understanding.

We have been exploring weather and climate.  Students are investigating the daily weather in different regions in Canada.  We were surprised to see just how different the daily weather is in different areas of Canada.





In PE, we have started fine tuning our soccer skills.

As we missed PE due to the assembly, we learned a new game outside called, Home Free.

 Friday, August 30 We had an awesome first week of school, the time went by fast!  Some highlights from the past two days were: Time capsules: We have been writing a letter to our future selves to read at the end of grade 5 and grade 12.  Students have been including details about their summer, their interests and goals for this year. Shipwrecked: To build leadership and resiliency, we played a game called Shipwrecked.  Students in 5D worked as a team to cross from one side of the soccer field to the other by only standing on 10 sit upons.  The students moved almost halfway across the field without touching the grass!  It was amazing to hear all of the words of encouragement and strategy. Math and Literacy: We eased back into learning by playing math and literacy games.
