This week we continued to learn our dance with SoundKreations. Families are invited to our performance on Thursday, December 12 from 10:00 - 10:35! We are asking families to stay for the whole time block which includes performances from the grade 2 and 5 students.

In math, we had $10 000 to spend on furnishing an empty classroom. Students had fun deciding what they wanted the most for the classroom.





























There are resources posted in the Google Classroom to practice rounding numbers and adding and subtracting numbers with decimals. The material for extra practice is called, Adding and Subtracting Decimals. There are a LOT of practice sheets with answers included for most. This is intended for students to pick out an area of growth and practice a few questions.
















In social we have been writing notes and summaries on the different regions of Canada.










In science, students are deepening their understanding of weather and climate. We are working on a project (Canva presentation or video) highlighting the climate and weather in a destination of the student's choice. Please see the graphic organizer attached. Some students took the sheet home if they were unable to complete it during class time.


On Friday we practiced our multiplication fluency with two different games. Please keep up this habit at home! We also played Home Free outside!

 Friday, August 30 We had an awesome first week of school, the time went by fast!  Some highlights from the past two days were: Time capsules: We have been writing a letter to our future selves to read at the end of grade 5 and grade 12.  Students have been including details about their summer, their interests and goals for this year. Shipwrecked: To build leadership and resiliency, we played a game called Shipwrecked.  Students in 5D worked as a team to cross from one side of the soccer field to the other by only standing on 10 sit upons.  The students moved almost halfway across the field without touching the grass!  It was amazing to hear all of the words of encouragement and strategy. Math and Literacy: We eased back into learning by playing math and literacy games.
