February 18 + 19

We had an exciting day back from the long weekend by celebrating the 100th day of school.  The centenarians were still fit enough to play floor hockey.

We focused on using descriptive vocabulary and 5 senses to describe events in our version of the Barnabus Project.

We invited our grade 2 buddies to come play our carnival games so that we can plot the information on a Stem and Leaf plot and bar graph.

We read the book The Station Cat by Stephen Hogtun to practice our inferencing skills.  Students had deep conversations about their interpretation of the book.

Students acted out lunar and solar eclipses.  In a full revolution around the sun minus two days, we will have a total solar eclipse in Antarctica.  The next lunar eclipse will be on March 14 at 12:58 am in Calgary.
