We have put each 15-minute conference within a 20-minute window to allow a bit of wiggle room when technical difficulties come up.  Please ensure you are logged in and ready for your time at the start of your block.  (For example, if your 15-minute conference is within the 20-minute 4:20-4:40 block, please be logged in and ready for the teacher to pull you in from the virtual ‘waiting room’ at 4:20.)

In Social and Language Arts, students listened to their own Indigenous Star Story and illustrated the main events. Students will paint their main events on 5 stones this upcoming week in school. If possible, please bring in 5 stones (that can fit in the palm of your hand) to paint.

Because the Astrodome was in the gym for Thursday and Friday, students got to do Wreedom Wrenzy.

In Restart, students learned about diversity and inclusion. Students learned barriers to inclusion were, stereotypes, prejudice, ignorance, lack of representation, bullying, social groups/ cliques. They also learned to tell the difference between racism and discrimination. Students played bingo "write someone's name if.." to realize that we are all unique and can learn from each other.

To help us understand the indigenous star stories, students experimented with star finders.  We were able to find the "Dog Stars", and the stars that are always visible in our night sky, like the Big and Little dipper and the North star, Polaris.

We had the thrilling opportunity to have an in class field trip inside an astrodome.  James is passionate about space and was able to teach us many cool facts.  Some highlights from the students were, the simulation of the aurora borealis, the solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse.  This was lucky as the lunar eclipse was barely visible last night due to the cloudy weather.

Flashlight Friday helped us build our fluency skills.
